Baptism
Most Baptisms take place during Mass on either Saturday evening or Sunday morning. Parents are required to attend a Baptism Prep Class prior to the Baptism and Godparents are welcome to attend, but are not reqjuired to attend. To schedule a baptism or to attend a class contact Michael Halbrook at 877-3300 ext 1005.
Baptism, the gate to the sacraments, necessary for salvation in fact or at least in intention, by which men and women are freed from their sins, are reborn as children of God and, configured to Christ by an indelible character, are incorporated in the Church, is validly conferred only by washing with true water together with the required form of words.
(Canon #849)
Baptism cleanses people from the effects of original sin and from all personal sins, gives them rebirth as children of God, incorporates them into the Church, sanctifies them with the gifts of the Holy Spirit, and, impressing on their souls an indelible character, initiates them in Christ's priestly, prophetic, and kingly roles.
By accepting Baptism into Christ's death and resurrection, people affirm their faith and are initiated and welcomed into the community of faith.
In response to theri call to share in Christ's prieshood, the baptized are to minister both to the community of faith and to the whole world.

Matrimony
Arrangements made through Father Edgar six months in advance.
Christian marriage is the union of a baptized man and woman who freely enter into a loving covenant with each other in Christ. The self-giving love of bride and bridegroom is sealed and strengthened by the Lord; the married couple imitates, and in a way represents, Christ's faithful love for His bride, the Church. Thus husbands and wives become signs, in and to the world, of God's steadfast love for His people.
The Church proclaims the permanent, exclusive, and binding nature of this loving covenant. In the case of Christian marriage, the man and the woman are themselves the ministers of the sacrament. When either partner in a marriage is Catholic, the couple should be aware of and follow the norms and laws of the Church governing Christian marriage.
